Pastor Sam Leung
Pastor Sam Leung was born in Hong Kong. He accepted Christ in 1991 and was baptized in 1992. Upon his conversion and baptism, he felt called by the Lord to be a missionary overseas and he sensed that the Lord has put a heavy burden and conviction in his heart for the lost souls and His church. He committed himself to the Lord for His mission in 1993 and since then, he knew that the Lord has called him to full time ministries.
He received his college education and served in the church and fellowship in Australia as a lay leader. While he served in Australia, he found the joy in seeing how God touched people’s hearts and how He changed people’s lives. The Lord has given him the passion for His church and to spread the gospel to the lost world.
After graduation, he worked in Mainland China and Hong Kong for a few years where he experienced the valley of the shadow of death. But through those moments, he learned that Christ is his Lord, that he could not do anything by his own strength. The Lord transformed his life once again. And that was the turning point of his life.
The Lord opened the door for Pastor Sam to come to New York in 2003. In the same year, he married Selina Fung who he had been in a courtship for a few years. He started his ministry as an administrative assistant in Bensonhurst Chinese Christian Church, where he was hired as a minister in January 2008. To respond to God’s calling, Minister Sam left BCCC in June 2011 and joined Chinese Missionary Baptist Church in July 2011.
Pastor Sam is grateful for God’s calling to be a full-time minister. Pastor Sam, Selina, and their children, Rebekah and Samuel will continue to follow God and to discern His will in terms of serving His church and living a life that exemplifies Christ’s love. Pastor Sam continues to pray that God will touch peoples’ lives and transform them through the CMBC.
Pastor Sam received his master’s degree in Divinity at Alliance Theological Seminary in 2008. His favorite Bible writer is Paul. His favorite chapters of the Bible are Romans 8 and Philippians 2.
He loves spending time with his family and the church family.
